Dacula Middle School

I truly enjoyed my visit to Dacula Middle School. The Principal, Kimberly Bussey and the Assistant Principals, Bonnie Mondesir and Tasha Baumgardner made me feel incredibly welcomed.

I appreciated the welcome sign and opportunity to have a conversation with following students in grade eight: Akayla Williams, Christian Rustin, Luis Garavito, Sarah Williams, David Morellos and Amari Carrie.

I asked each student what makes their school special and each student said “they way in which the Principal, Teachers and support staff help them to build relationships with others and their environment. They feel like their ideas and opinion are being listened to & they are respected . They believe in giving back and being involved in the community.

They also stated learning is very interactive with a focus on “Critical Thinking & Literacy”. Principal Bussey said “academic performance belongs to everyone”. All students are encouraged to encouraged each others to succeed.

What you are achieve, it doesn’t always mean you are exceeding your abilities.

Dacula Middle School also has a business program based on the Carnegie Business Model, so students can start creating a pathway to the future.

This school was built in 1988, 43% Black Students, 25% White Students, 24% Hispanic Students, 4% Asian/Pacific Islander and 3% Multiracial.

#HappyAssistantDay. I joined the Principal, teachers and Staff for lunch to thank staff.
